Katelyn's Winter One-derland Birthday

On Saturday, December 15th, 2012 we gathered with close friends and family to celebrate Katelyn's first birthday, in a Winter One-derland. ;)

We started by opening the gifts, and Katelyn really enjoyed everything. Her big brother, Jackson, helped with opening the gifts, and I think he had as much fun as she did! She wore a custom birthday outfit that I made for her, and I am pretty happy with the way it turned out. For her first birthday she got her first plate, cup, and utensil set from her Aunt Stephanie and children, some very cute outfits from Aunt Saralyn, a beautiful dress from Nana & PawPaw Al, a cute outfit from Granny Wilks, her first Cookie jar sorter, books, suit case, and outfit from her Ya-Ya and Grandpa Mike, a Drop and Giggle Giraffe toy from MawMaw and PawPaw Willison, her first Princess Castle from Uncle Matthew, a book of Bible verses and Beanie Baby from the Spiers, her first Cabbage Patch dolls from the Williamsons, a Veggie Tales movie from the Rayburns, a set of Stacking Cups from the Blackburns, her first Tea Set from the Keens, and her first Leapfrog Puppy Pal, Violet from Mom, Dad, and Jackson.  Here she is enjoying present opening time...

Then is was time for her first taste of cake, everyone singing Happy Birthday,  and other sweet treats! She didn't quite know what to expect at first, but after a few seconds/minutes, she really started getting into her smash cake. She loved it!

These are the other treats everyone enjoyed....Snow balls, Snow Rings, Snow Kiss Cookies, Snowflake Cookies, Snow Drizzled Pretzels, Strawberry Smores, Snow Punch, and Hot Chocolate.

My wonderful husband helped me with the decorations, hanging snowflakes, paper lanterns, and ribbon curls, as well as hanging my special snowflakes below....pictures of Katelyn each month since birth. The picture is fuzzy (ugh), but you sort of get what I was going for here! Thank you Andrew for your help with everything!

Andrew also helped me put together the party favors. These consisted of mini silver and glittery ornaments attached to pink and white lollipops with white ribbon. We forgot to hand these out to everyone before they left!! Sorry!

Going Waay Back!

So, there have been quite a few holidays since the last time I posted anything on here, whew! Crazy busy! Its been so long I even forgot my password to sign in!

The last time I posted was on Halloween, so here are a few pictures from then. Jackson was so excited to be Batman this year! I found a cape and mask set at Walgreens for $10, then added the Batman logo I cut out of yellow and black felt, onto the cape and front of his shirt. I think it turned out pretty good. Katelyn was a little ballerina! I first used her tutu and headband in her five month pictures at Olan Mills. I am all about using things multiple times, so I am excited that I could use it again, and plan to use it as part of her first birthday outfit.

We went to our church that night for community wide Pumpkin Party. It was a blast!

A few weeks after Halloween the ladies in our SS class hosted a baby shower for two Mommies-to-be at my house. I went with an Alphabet theme. Here are a few pics...



Then there was Thanksgiving. This year we got to travel to Kentucky and Indiana to see Andrew's family, the Orricks and the Ellards. We are both thankful for our growing family and the way the Lord has blessed us and always provided for us. Here are a few pictures from our Thanksgiving trip. These first ones are from Granny Orricks cabin in Morehead, KY.

These few were taken at the Christian Activity Center at Nanny and Pappy Ellards church in Newburgh, IN.

We had a really good trip, especially since it was the first time for both children to travel that far together. Nanny and Pappy enjoyed getting to meet Katelyn in person for the first time and playing with Jackson more. We are very thankful that we all made it back home safely.
