A Day at Mitchell Farms

This past Saturday we visited Mitchell Farms in Collins, MS with our good friends the Knights. It is a beautiful farm with hundreds of acres of sunflowers, cotton fields, peanut fields, a U-pick farm, pumpkin patch, a corn maze (which we didn't navigate very well, lol), and so many other things for the kids to do. They enjoyed riding a little train, seeing the goats and the other animals, and sliding! The weather was wonderful too and we all had a great time! Here are a few photos from our day.

Jackson Turns Two!!

I cannot believe my little boy just turned two years old last week, on September 21, 2011! Time will just never slow down. To celebrate this special occasion, we invited close friends and family to the Ellard Farm for a Barnyard themed Bash! We had miniature goats, compliments of one of my co-workers who raises them, and a hay ride for everyone to enjoy. My younger brother, Matthew, was kind enough to loan us his four-wheeler and be the driver for the hay ride.

We also had a "duck" pond for fishing, a pumpkin patch, an apple tree, a horse (for pictures only), and a barn backdrop for pics. I think everyone, especially Jackson, enjoyed the party and it was fun to put everything together. Here are a few pictures from our celebration.

It's a GIRL!!

I am now 22 weeks along, and we found out July 30th that baby Ellard #2 is a girl!!
We had an ultrasound on July 29th at 11am and asked the technician to check on a card "boy" or "girl". This is the part that was really hard for me, but I did it! I asked the technician to put the results in a sealed envelope, then I delivered the results to my neighbor who iced the "revealing" cupcake. I had prepared cupcakes earlier and set two aside, one for pink icing and one for blue, and put a mardi gras baby in one of them. I told him to put pink on the one with a baby in it if the results said "girl", and blue icing on the one with a baby if the results said "boy". After that was the really hard part, I had to wait until 6:30pm the next night to reveal the results at our party with family and friends!

Just a quick sidenote; at this point I have had three dreams about having a baby girl and Jackson being the big brother, so I had a "feeling" it was going to be a girl. Also, everything about this pregnancy has been different; different cravings, no morning sicknes, etc.

Now back to the story. The next day I anxiously counted down the hours until 6:30 pm came. Family and friends slowly arrived at the house and we started with appetizers. Everyone cast their vote, boy or girl, wrote down name suggestions, and their predictions for baby's birthday. Finally the moment came for the reveal. Andrew took the one with blue icing, and I took the one with pink. We both cut into our cupcakes at the same time, and in mine was the mardi gras baby!!! Yay, we're having a baby girl! Just to make sure, Andrew opened the sealed envelope from the ultrasound tech, and sure enough, she had checked "Girl". We are so excited that Jackson will have a baby sister in December. Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

Always Running Behind, lol!

I cannot seem to get all my ducks in a row when it comes to keeping my blog current! I haven't added any pictures of my pregnancy so far, so I wanted to add a "bump" picture of me at 16 weeks. Of course, I am now 21 weeks, so I will have to add that as soon as I get a chance. Below are 16 weeks pics and an ultrasound pic of Baby Ellard Number 2!

I took a few cute pictures of Jackson last weekend before church, because we were actually early to church and had some time to snap pictures. I thought these were too cute to not share, so here they are. Enjoy!

Playing catch up again......

Things have been crazy busy in the Ellard household for the past month or so. But praise the Lord, all has been well. He has helped us through sinus infections, and now pink eye, but we know there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I can't believe my little boy turned 21 months old on June 21, 2011, and is now only 3 short months away from being a two-year old! Again, time please slow down. He is just growing up too fast and we love spending time with him. He is such a talker, and a good one at that. He is bright and smart and picks up on things so quickly. At this rate I'm afraid he is going to outsmart his mother by the time he's in 5th grade!

He loves to read and help around the house...here are a few pics of him reading and helping dad lower his crib...

 

 

Can I just say that it is quite annoying for me to add pictures and I could use a lot or practice!! Anyway, these are a few cute pictures I snapped last Friday.
